About the Opportunity

The Financial Analyst will work closely with the Sr Financial Analyst and the Corp Accounting team to manage full Accounts Payable (A/P) cycle. This includes coordinating payment to vendors, working with various teams (Supply Chain, Marketing, HR, etc.) to manage vendor invoices, recording month-end accruals, expense allocation entries, completing month-end reconciliation workbooks, performing analysis on vendors and expense accounts, finding efficiencies to increase cash flow, and creating process flow documents. This individual will possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and will be a team player in supporting the entire Finance Department

• Managing A/P ledger by performing reconciliations to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted on a weekly basis
• Collaborating with the treasury function to ensure accurate and timely payment application
• Preparing weekly A/P run file for payment processing purposes and monthly A/P aging reporting
• Performing month over month GL variance analysis (balance sheet and income statement accounts) which include investigating and communicating key drivers of financial movement
• Reconciling processed work by verifying entries against support, vendor invoices, and system results, verifying balances with external support
• Charging expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries
• Processing invoices and coordinating payments to vendors in compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Reconciling discrepancies between internal reports and vendor statements to resolve vendor payment issues
• Liaising between all teams/departments and vendors to ensure vendor invoices are approved and reviewed prior to issuing payment
• Managing ticketing system to ensure timely resolution of AP ticket requests.
• Managing the expense management platform which includes liaising with internal stakeholders and collaborating with the platform’s support team to resolve system issues
• Assist in building procurement process to automate A/P processes
• Researching process automation tools to scale the A/P function and improve operational efficiencies
• Coordinating with internal and external parties to identify process gaps while proposing and implementing solutions to streamline the AP process

About You

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in A/P and/or accounting roles
• BA/BComm in Accounting or Finance
• Strong accounting skills
• Working knowledge and understanding of financial reporting under IFRS
• Excellent knowledge of accounting/finance processes including month-end close, variances analysis, and reconciliations
• Experience working in a multi-currency environment
• Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions
• Experience with MS Office and accounting software, Google G-Suite products
• Problem-solver who searches for process deficiencies and identifies solutions
• Detail oriented, organized, and ability to prioritize is a must
• Open and flexible to changes as organization is growing and your daily tasks might vary accordingly
• Possess a process mindset by resolving the gaps in the existing process and automating tasks to enhance efficiency
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
• SaaS / technology experience a plus
• Experience with ERP systems (i.e. Quickbooks, Netsuite, Xero) or other cloud-based accounting software
• Working towards CPA designation or other international designations

Salary

$70,000/year
