About the Opportunity

The Management Accounting Analyst is managing the internal business accounting process encompass of: costing and inventory controls, margin reporting, capital budgeting, annual business plan, identifies areas that need improving or updating, and determines solutions to operational and business problems by reviewing processes and systems and providing solutions. This can involve overhaul or revamp existing areas of the business including manufacturing operations, sales and logistics

  • Manage the manufacturing accounting cycle. – costing and inventory controls
  • Responsible for processing customer returns on a daily basis
  • Responsible for monthly journal entries
  • Calculate sales staff commissions on a monthly basis
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process
  • Assist the Assistant Controller with the internal financial reporting and metric reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of audit binder for annual audit
  • Determine need for business or operational improvement using data, interviews, document analysis, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, task and workflow analysis.
  • Provide recommendations to help improve processes throughout the organization, while ensuring completeness and accuracy with minimal business disruption
  • Works responsively and collaboratively with teammates; Shares information in a timely manner; Works with others to resolve outstanding issues

About You

  • Strong understanding ASPE, GAAP and IFRS
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business and customer needs and translate them into recommendations for improving the business
  • Critical thinking skills so that all relevant data and information is examined and old ways of doing things can be successfully challenged
  • Communication skills – both written and verbal skills in presenting ideas for change; manage pushback of ideas
  • Innovative thinking and interpretation skills so that solutions are the right ones for improving the business
  • Thinking about longer term consequences (pros and cons) of recommendations
  • Identifies and prioritizes business needs effectively 
  • Accurate costing and inventory controls
  • Number of projects completed
  • Success rate of projects competed
  • Generates high quality recommendations and presentations
  • Has credibility with all staff
  • Adheres to company's operating procedures 
  • Produces work of quality, precision and accuracy– no complaints or mistakes
  • Work attendance
  • Respectful, accurate and timely communication with others

Salary

$75,000/year
