About the Opportunity

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of financial statements. Furthermore, they will act as a business advisor to Branch Managers to assist in improving the success and profitability of each business unit

  • Preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliation, maintenance of accounting records in conformity with ASPE, and assist with month-end close activity
  • Responsible for timely completion of P&L variance analysis on a monthly basis
  • Possess strong business judgment and the ability to identify opportunities to improve business processes
  • Act as a business advisor to a network of Branch Managers across Ontario, offering training and collaborative solutions to improve the success and profitability of each business unit
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely manner
  • Assist with year-end external audit by preparing and reviewing all audit requirements
  • Manage customer rebate programs
  • Prepare monthly rent roll for all locations, maintain lease and complete CAM reconciliations
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Support the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of financial reports
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting and participate in special projects as required
  • Ability to develop a strong rapport with coworkers
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills to effectively build a positive relationship with team members
  • Self-starter who is able to take initiative and work well independently
  • Ability to manage tight monthly deadlines and deliver high quality work
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information proficiently, and develops alternative solutions
  • Strong communication and business partnering skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, good time management skills, and able to balance multiple priorities effectively

About You

  • CPA designation with minimum 2 years related work experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Inventory Management is an asset
  • Working knowledge of BlackLine, SXe, and COGNOS is an asset

Salary

$65,000 - $80,000/year
