Financial Analyst (Closed)

The overall purpose of this job is to provide analysis and support for the film operations through accounting and reporting for film development, production and distribution activities. This position will also provide financial and operational analysis support for management decision making as well as reconciliations of various revenue and cost functions within the department.

About the Opportunity

• Assist in the accounting and reporting for the company's film development, production and distribution activities, as well as provide financial and operational analysis for management decision making
• Analyze all accounts under areas of responsibility to ensure that they are accurate and reasonable; investigate discrepancies and correct where necessary
• Review Legal contracts and ensure terms are translated into SAP for documentary films
• Work with SAP Master Data team to ensure Film projects elements, Film Assets and Film customer master data is up to date
• Coordinate with other departments to obtain required and timely information relating to areas of responsibility
• Prepare accurate reports with concise comments and value-added analysis of all significant variances and answer all questions from internal management/stakeholders
• Coordinate requirements for month/quarter/annual statements to film sponsors
• Prepare and enter all journal entries relating to areas of responsibility

Month/Quarter End Reporting

• Assist in preparing various entries: film revenue and cost accruals, re-billings of costs to studios (marketing/trailers/prints), film depreciation calculation
• Reconcile balance sheet components monthly/quarterly as required
• Assist with internal internal/external audit requests
• Perform other duties and work on special projects as required

About You

• Post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent in business with a concentration in accounting
• Working towards CGA/CMA designation with a minimum of two years of accounting experience
• Intermediate level MS Word and Excel skills
• ERP (ex. SAP) experience is preferred

Salary Range

$70,000 - $75,000/year
