Our client acquires, strengthens and grows vertical market software companies, enabling them to be clear leaders within their focused industry. They are looking for a Finance Manager who will be a key part of the portfolio reporting as well as working with the portfolio companies to improve group reporting, internal finance systems/processes, and support due diligence and M&A activities.

About the Opportunity

  • Set standards for the preparation of multiple business unit deliverables to close quarter/year ends, and providing final review of deliverables
  • Review complex financial accounting work processes, systems, and procedures for efficient workflow and conformity with accounting principles
  • Lead onsite process improvement meetings for business units/companies, with a focus on operational excellence
  • Managing a high performing team; providing development and growth opportunities throughout the portfolio
  • Analyze newly acquired business reporting practices and recommend solutions to public company standards
  • Support multiple financial integration projects related to new acquisitions simultaneously
  • Assist in acquisition target analysis, focusing on operational and financial impacts to the investment post acquisition
  • Lead financial due diligence on M&A deals and share learnings across the portfolio
  • Streamline group reporting so it is consistent and efficient across the business units/companies
  • Critically evaluate accounting information systems to help drive decisions on scalable, sustainable growth
  • Preparation and analysis of management reporting, with a focus on key operating ratios to identify issues, opportunities, and emerging trends for our business partners.
  • Ability to communicate and implement our set COSO framework as part of our Risk Management objective

About You

  • CPA designation
  • 5+ years of strong progressive accounting experience
  • Thorough understanding of IFRS standards (specifically IFRS 15 & 16)
  • Experience in the software industry is an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with BPC, GP, or Blackline is an asset

Salary Range

$100,000 - $115,000/year
