EDI Specialist - 6 Month Contract (Closed)

About the Opportunity

  • Proactively ensuring the success of the day-to-day backend ERP processes for sending and receiving transactions
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot all errors that may arise from the database, EDI, and customer transactions
  • Facilitates the exchange and review of transaction specifications
  • Work with the internal sales team and other stakeholders to scope out new EDI integration specifications
  • Perform transaction and database testing to ensure validity and data integrity
  • Determine, establish, and test various EDI protocols
  • Manage various stakeholder relationships with 3rd party vendor (i.e. EDI, SPS Commerce, CommerceHub)
  • Identify process and systems improvement opportunities within the EDI environment
  • Ensure a stable technical environment, oversee data integrity and consistency
  • Research complex problems, find optimal solutions, and implement them as best practices
  • Research new products and systems that may benefit the organization while remaining up-to-date with emerging technological advances, trends and direction
  • Research and develop test procedures to verify expected system behaviour while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, completeness, and timeliness of the data stored in the database systems

About You

  • 5+ years of practical experience supporting an EDI environment and related projects
  • Strong practical understanding and previous experience working with data and databases (i.e. SQL, T-SQL, and Oracle SQL)
  • Strong familiarity with the following EDI document types: 850, 855, 810, 753, 754, 870, 940, 945
  • Previous experience setting up AS2 connections
  • Previous experience working with SPS Commerce, CommerceHub, or similar vendors would be an asset
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing and/or large retail environment would be an asset
  • An experienced self-starter who can hit-the-ground running and work independently with minimal supervision
  • A passionate and inquisitive troubleshooter who is able to both proactively identify problems and their corresponding solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage various stakeholders and 3rd party vendors
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities
  • Willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and team player
