About the Opportunity

• Oversee the preparation of the Company’s quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, monthly internal and external financial reports, and ensure compliance with IFRS/US GAAP and Company policies and procedures
• Assist in the preparation/review of the Company’s quarterly and annual MD&A
• Coordinate, plan and execute all external financial statement audits
• Lead the Company’s potential transition from IFRS to US GAAP
• Oversee the review of monthly subsidiary reporting packages, ensuring journal entries, account reconciliations, analysis as well as quarterly and annual processes for reporting, regulatory filings, and supporting audits are completed within prescribed timelines
• Provide support and oversight on all financial research efforts from evaluation to conclusion on all significant accounting transactions, new and proposed accounting, reporting and disclosure standards issued including memorandum preparation documenting the position and impact on the Company and advising senior management
• Continue to develop and enforce standards for the financial close processes and workflows; evaluate and diagnose current system processing issues, propose and implement solutions, support existing automation projects and continuously drive improvement
• Assist with coordination of Canadian and US tax with external preparers and other compliance related filings
• Manage, motivate, and develop the team by providing support, training, mentorship, and development while encouraging a continuous improvement and innovative mindset
• Completing special projects and undertaking new initiatives as they arise

About You

• CPA designation
• 5-8 years of experience at an accounting firm and/or industry, must include accounting firm experience
• Proficient in IFRS & US GAAP
• Demonstrated proficiency in multi-currency consolidation
• Audit and valuation experience
• Tax experience considered an asset
• Public company experience considered an asset
• Experience reporting in the cannabis industry an asset
• Intermediate-to-advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with SAP Business ByDesign considered an asset

Salary Range
$140,000 - $150,000/year
