Director of Financial Reporting (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Assistance with preparation of consolidated financial statements and notes to financial statements in accordance with IFRS
• Navigating new acquisitions and related reporting
• Research of accounting issues and implications of complex business transactions
• Preparation of materials for Audit Committee and Executive management
• Working closely with Investor Relations to provide the Finance perspective
• Co-ordination of year-end audit process
• Review of consolidation entries and reconciliations of consolidated balance sheet accounts
• Fluctuation and variance analysis of consolidated balance sheet and income statement balances
• Review of competitive set financial statements.
• Creation and maintenance of policies and disclosures to meet corporate environmental stewardship goals
• Supervise and manage Senior Manager- Reporting, Manager of Special projects, Finance and a Financial analyst

About You

• Strong understanding of IFRS accounting guidance and financial reporting requirements
• Strong accounting research skills
• Good understanding of complex, multi-currency consolidations
• Knowledge of Environmental Stewardship directives
• Large ERP exposure an asset
• CPA CA designation
• 7+ years post-qualification experience
• Exceptionally detailed oriented and organized
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• High integrity and ethical standards combined with a focus on improving internal controls
• Hard-working and motivated
• Public company reporting - IFRS 16 knowledge is a strong asset
• Effective Manager - at least 3 years of people management experience
• Able to multi-task and work with teams located across time zones
• Strong investigative and analytical skills
• Collaborative working style – able to develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Able to work under pressure, in a team environment and to effectively prioritize work-related tasks
• Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Salary

$140,000/year
