About the Company 
Our client is a data and technology company. They are looking for a Director of Finance who will be responsible for overseeing the Accounting team while leading the month-end reporting and quarterly filing process.

About the Opportunity 

 Month End Reporting
  • Prepare and review month-end close process, reviewing monthly reporting package with CEO.
  • Ensure monthly HST return is prepared and filed on a timely basis 
  • Provide monthly sales tax data and supporting analysis to CEO 
  • Manage FX trade/ currency conversions
Cash Flow Management 
  • Treasury management, including monitor cash levels for needed expenditures and move cash around as required, report/obtain CEO approval 
  • Manage bill entry and approval process, budgeted vs actuals, working with CEO as needed to get invoices entered. 
Quarter End Reporting 
  • Prepare quarterly external financial statements and MD&A, working closely with CFO
  • Prepare quarterly board compliance documentation for audit committee 
  • Review F/S and present to Board of Directors 
  • Calculate director’s fees on a quarterly basis and execute payment – including CPP and EHT (as applicable). 
Annual Reporting 
  • Manage annual audit process, including: 
    • IFRS memo(s) 
    • Acquisition information and memo(s) 
    • Stock option calculation 
    • Going concern memo 
  • Work with COO to ensure results from NetSuite are reported accurately, working closely with sales to understand any sales tax implications, etc.
  • AR collection – manage AR clerk and direct involvement with customers as needed to ensure cash is collected. Manage the credit approval process.
  • Insurance – responsible for overseeing insurance renewals, obtaining COIs, assisting with claims as needed 
Financial Communications 
  • Creating and monitoring news releases, F/S, MD&A and other SEDAR compliancy requirements 
Payroll and HR 
  • Review and manage payroll preparation process – prepare as needed (including commission calculations)
  • Manage company employee benefits management for both US and Canadian employees 
  • Process and file US and CAD tax returns, leverage external tax advisors 

About You 
  • CPA Designation
  • 7+ years of progressive Accounting/ Finance experience
  • IFRS experience
  • Company size: Small to mid size

Salary Range 
$165,000 - $175,000/year
