Our client is an insurance company seeking a Director of Finance to join their fast paced entrepreneurial and collaborative culture. This role will report directly to the CFO, and will play an integral role on the finance team.

About the Opportunity

• Manage the creation of the monthly financial package and KPI dashboards for Management
• Create the quarterly reports and annual consolidated financial statements including notes
• Create the annual forecast package and the quarterly forecast updates for Board meetings
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports for the Board and ancillary reporting related to specific financial statement disclosures
• Research new accounting standards and facilitate the transition and implementation of new standards to meet regulatory requirements
• Work with external consultants and manage the implementation of IFRS 17 and other accounting change
• Lead the company’s financial reporting systems upgrades and on-going troubleshooting, in conjunction with improving business processes
• Manage receivable and reconciliation process for premiums with on-going, course correction as needed
• Provide capital management insight and analysis on an ongoing basis to support the expansion of the business
• Support the evaluation of new initiatives and their impact on external financial reporting and controls
• Work with actuarial group to support projects and facilitate data changes as needed
• Support the internal and external audit processes including directly managing the relationship with the external audit team

About You

• CPA
• 3+ years relevant experience (preferred experience in the insurance industry)
• Experience with P&C1 regulatory reporting and MCT requirements
• Modelling skills would be an asset

Salary Range

$130,000 - $135,000/year
