Our client is a government agency providing professional services. They are looking for a Director of Finance who will be part of the Leadership team and be responsible for managing and providing leadership over the delivery of financial services and provision of financial advice.

About the Opportunity

• Directs and manages the Finance Department including all financial activities relating to annual revenues and expenditures
• Makes authoritative recommendations in the development of finance policies and standards, and implements financial processes and procedures within approved policies and standards
• Provides expert financial and budgeting advice and guidance to staff, and manages the operating budgeting process across the organization
• Leads the development of the Finance Department’s plan and leads the functional activities of the department and is accountable for the Finance Department budget to ensure judicious use of resources
• Oversees the financial reporting cycle and produces, for senior leadership review, all financial reports, and other financial documents for external and internal stakeholders
• Acts as the primary liaison with the external auditors and oversees the completion of the annual audits
• Manages finance projects around the design and implementation of financial systems, including the relationship with any related external consultants
• Compile and analyze the consolidated operating budget to present to senior leadership

About You

• CPA, CA Designation
• At least 10 years of broad-based financial management experience in a government agency, crown corporation or NPO, including supervisory experience
• Strong Interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Proven ability to lead a team and to build relationships

Salary Range

$100,000 - $130,000/year
