About the Opportunity

  • Ensure that all financial data is accurate, complete, and conforms to organizations needs for reporting and administration for various Funds.
  • 1. Fund Administration:
    • Overall oversight responsibility for the administration of all aspects of the funds’ operations including the funds’ credit facilities, preparation of all call and distribution notices and the handling of investor relations (i.e., review of limited partner audit confirmations as required). Including oversight of all fund related bank and brokerage accounts.
  • 2. Financial Reporting
    • Overall oversight responsibility for timely and accurate reporting of all financial and management information related to the entities referred to above. The fund financial statements are prepared in accordance with Canadian accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE).
    • Responsible for reviewing the quarterly reporting package for the fund and feeder vehicles (including financial statements, notes, limited partner capital account statements, activity review/accounting issue memo and other analysis as required).
    • Ensure the proper maintenance of all general ledgers and the chart of accounts and the timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.
  • 3. Valuation Work
    • Along with the organization’s investment teams, COO, CFO and Manager, Finance – be able to provide portfolio support as required in connection with the quarterly valuation of the funds’ investments in accordance with ASPE and the International Private Equity Valuation Guidelines.
  • 4. Audit Process
    • Plan and organize the annual audits for all fund entities including coordinating all matters necessary for the completion of the audits.
  • 5. Income Tax and HST Compliance
    • Work with Organization’s Senior Manager of Tax and CFO to coordinate and oversee the necessary work done by the Managers of Finance and Senior Corporate Accountant in respect to fund entity related income tax and HST compliance obligations.
  • 6. Other
    • Assist CFO and COO as required.

About You

  • CPA designation
  • 7-10 years of industry experience
  • Audit and tax experience
  • Managerial experience
  • Investran and advanced Excel
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to balance a broad variety of assignments
  • Tasks to a high level of accuracy, timeliness and follow-through
  • Acute attention to detail to ensure all processes are followed and that financial information is reported appropriately for all requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to identify where potential issues may exist, strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to ensure prompt resolution of issues

Pay Rate

$60/hour
