Director, Corporate Accounting - 12 Month Contract (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Oversees the full cycle accounting process for all corporate entities across the CDN organization
• Manages annual audits
• Provide accounting support and expertise to support transactions within the Canadian legal entity structure
• Report on monthly results to the CFO
• Support financial requirements including dividend and other capital transactions

Fund and Institutional Billing

• Maintain the retail fund billing system
• Review monthly and quarterly institutional invoices and maintain oversight of the institutional billing process and control

Inter-company Financial Planning and Analysis and Advisory Fee Processes

• Coordination with international affiliate advisory teams to ensure advisory fee rates are maintained and in line with agreements
• Ownership of the inter-company charge process, including intra-company expenses
• Support includes annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting, consistent communication with the company's international affiliates, Master Service Contract amendments, costs changes, amendments to budget rates and management reporting on results

Finance Policies and Procedures

• Maintain finance policies and complete ongoing reviews to ensure compliance
• Establish a strong control environment across organization through policy distribution, documentation and learning

About You

• CPA, CA designation
• 8+ years of progressive management experience in corporate accounting within large accounting firms and /or large financial services companies
• 4+ years’ experience in direct people management roles
• Experience in mutual funds or investment management is preferred
• Strong Analytical skills
• Manage competing priorities
• Optimize team efforts to yield best-in-class business support / decision making
• Take individual accountability while also driving accountability and results for the team
• Proactive and decisive leader
• Confident, strong relationship builder,strong influencing skills
• Works effectively across groups even when they have divergent goals or conflicting interests

Pay Rate

$140,000/year
