About the Client
Our client located downtown Toronto is currently hiring a Deskside Analyst to join their team. In this role you will bring superior written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong customer focused IT service skills. This will be a contract with strong potential for full time.
About the Opportunity
- Providing support to all users by investigation and resolving all computer hardware and software related issues, from level 1 through to level 2 at Head Office and Site Office locations
- Supports IT projects and site setup activities as required
- Basic networking administration
- Provides computing support to clients, responding to telephone calls, emails and personnel requests for technical support
- Records, prioritizes, and tracks all assigned service calls and documents work efforts in a ticketing system
- Ensures timely attention to requests to meet service level targets
- Recommends system modifications to reduce recurrences
- Works collaboratively with other IT teams (network services, systems management and/or applications development) to correctly identify and address problems, and restore service
- Identifies and reports network connectivity issues
- Delivers computers/phones to clients, performing computer imaging, installation and data transfer between old and new machines
- Procure software/hardware for client, updates and maintains inventory liaising with asset management system / manager
- Coordinates with vendors
- Updates internal support documentation and contributes to the development of client help documentation.
- Installs software and assists with license tracking
- Provides troubleshooting and support for other enterprise systems as assigned
- Performs testing and quality assurance on computer system images, hardware systems and standard software
- Prioritizes and manages multiple tasks and deadlines with supervision
- Works to resolve more complex problems with supervisory guidance
- Performs setup and basic troubleshooting of audio/visual equipment
About You
- Degree or Diploma in a related field of study
- At least 4 years experience in a Deskside Analyst role
- Excellent interpersonal skills to support both technical and nontechnical staff
- Strong ability to listen and understand what is being described
- Strong attention to detail
- Expert in Windows operating systems (Windows 7 and 10)
- Exposure or experience with Apple OS X and other Apple products
- Expert in PC hardware replacement and repair, enterprise workstation deployment and configuration, troubleshooting client network connectivity issues, and configuration of networked printers
- Highly knowledgeable on desktop, laptop, mobile devices (common smartphones and tablets), and supported vendor products and services
- Highly knowledgeable in the configuration and troubleshooting of standard business software such as: Microsoft Office Suite
- Web browsers, Citrix and VPN technologies
- Antivirus / antimalware software
- Windows Active Directory and Exchange
- Working knowledge of service desk ticketing
- Work with remote assistance tools such as Remote Desktop Connection, Skype for Business, SCCM and TeamViewer
- Working knowledge of imaging Windows 10 and Management tools
- Knowledge in telephony technology (e.g. Cisco, Polycom, Mitel)
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical concept
- Self-managed, highly motivated and has a strong drive for results
- Strong dedication to customer service
- Superior verbal, written and presentation communication skills
