Customs Analyst - 6 Month Contract (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Investigate discrepancies relating to customs import transactions by navigating multiple systems and communication with internal departments and external service providers
• Compare expected charges to actuals, record and report as required
• Instruct customs brokerage for customs entries requiring revision
• Maintain internal database relating to specific customs entries under investigation and revision
• Ad-hoc requests relating to Customs and Canadian VAT functions
• Provide update to customs team and manager as needed

About You

• Accounting: understanding of accruals recorded and matched against actual payments and refunds
• Experience in understanding transactional documentation and sequences
• Basic MS Excel and MS Access
• Enter data, sort, filter, search, basic formulas, run pre-developed queries for data
• Transportation management system [TMS] experience is an asset
• Ability to quickly adapt to new software
• Interpersonal skills: clear concise communication and positive attitude
• Experience with customs entries is an asset
• Chartered Accountant designation is an asset

Pay Rate

$30/hour
