About the Company
Our client is a fast-growing food and beverage manufacturing company. They are looking for a Controller who will require creating new and modifying existing accounting procedures and processes as well as monitoring and evaluating all day-to-day accounting activities for the company’s two operating companies.

About the Opportunity

• Produce monthly financial reports and statements for the two operating and one management company
• Oversee the processing of Payroll and modernizing our payroll processes
• Oversee the Accounts Payable and Receivable team members
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and provide reports to the stakeholders
• Monitor the inventory count process and verify the data
• Prepare and submit all government reports and payments including payroll withholding taxes, EHT, WSIB, HST and others
• Process year-end procedures by managing the year end with the external accountants including all General Ledger entries, Account reconciliations, Capital Expenditure documentation, Prepaid accounts, Shareholder transactions and other standard accounting procedures
• Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue and disbursement of expenses
• Improve, as necessary, existing systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

About You

• CPA
• Minimum 1-2 years of people management experience
• Small-mid size, private companies experience
• Manufacturing industry experience is an asset
• Strong knowledge in IFRS
• Proven working experience in Accounting including month and year end procedures
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office and Business Vision or similar accounting software
• Proven knowledge of Canadian accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations

Salary
$130,000 - $135,000/year
