Our client is a professional services firm that offers controllership services to high growth, and emerging public and private companies, within a variety of different industries. They are currently looking for a Controller to manage the corporate accounting and financial reporting functions for their portfolio of clients.

About the Opportunity

• Prepare quarterly financial reporting package – including financial statements and related working papers and schedules
• Consolidate financial results and accounts of corporate parent and subsidiaries
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely period-end close process, including review and approval of journal entries, account and bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, equity transactions and foreign exchange translation
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Ensure the financial integrity of the operations by establishing and maintaining a robust internal control environment in compliance with GAAP, company policies and standards, as appropriate.
• Continually improve processes and look for efficiencies, e.g., evaluate accuracy, completeness and effectiveness of the financial reporting processes
• Assist with the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors
• Research technical accounting matters and implement new accounting standards in compliance with IFRS
• Review the work of bookkeeper

About You

• CPA or in final stages (passed the CFE)
• Small/ mid-size public accounting firm experience
• IFRS experience
• Hands-on and technical individual - exposure to complex accounting (i.e. consolidation, FX transactions, Intercompany, Black-Scholes, warrants, debentures, options, etc.)
• FS preparation/ MD&A experience is nice to have

Salary Range

$90,000 - $100,000/year
