About the Company

Our client is a large equipment supplier and they are looking to hire a Controller. The Controller role will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the finance department and the preparation of the month/year-end financial statements in accordance to ASPE. This role will also oversee the treasury function including cash flow forecasting for the organization.

About the Opportunity

• Recruit, orient, train, develop, evaluate and terminate staff in accordance with Company human resources policies and procedures
• Oversee daily operations of the finance/accounting department
• Direction, supervision and evaluation of accounting staff
• Work closely with AR clerk to ensure timely collection of receivables and enforcement of credit policies and limits
• Perform daily accounting activities including general ledger update
• Perform all treasury and cash management functions for the company including payments disbursement and forecasting cash flows
• Perform and document various daily bank transactions including bank wires and inter account transfers
• Prepare month end financial statements and reports
• Assist with preparation of subsidiary financial reports
• Provide assistance with preparation of the annual budgets
• Prepare and/or co-ordinate monthly reconciliation of general ledger control accounts against subledgers or supporting schedules
• Prepare year-end financial reports and working papers and work closely with the auditors in connection

About You

• CPA Designation
• Experience in a relevant industry (heavy equipment, manufacturing, retail, distribution)
• Strong financial reporting background
• People management experience
• Treasury experience an asset
• Experience with Payroll (ADP) an asset

Salary Range

$110,000 - $130,000/year
