As our Controller, you will be responsible for the accounting systems, financial controls and financial analysis, as well as ensuring all regulatory and statutory filings are completed on a timely basis. About the Opportunity
- Oversee financial reporting, accounting, compliance and financial transaction processing (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, cash) functions
- Ensure accounting practices, policies and procedures are in compliance with ASPE
- Enable a robust control environment and build and maintain process documentation
- Manage the preparation of the annual audited financial statements
- Act as the key point of contact with external auditors and manage year-end and pension audits
- Coordinate the insurance renewal process
- Support the adoption and adaptation of new financial and reporting systems
- Work with the outside advisors to prepare corporate tax filings and ensure regulatory filings are completed in a timely basis
- Oversee treasury functions
- Streamline accounting functions and drive efficient internal processes
- Coach and guide a team of 11 (2 direct reports and 9 indirect reports)
About You
- University degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related discipline
- Must have a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA) and professional accounting and audit experience from a leading audit firm
- Progressively increased responsibilities of 5 plus years of related experience working in a corporate accounting manager/ controllership role
- Comprehensive knowledge of finance, accounting, treasury and ASPE
- Direct, relevant experience with working in mid- to large-scale ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Knowledge and experience with corporate and consumer tax
- Mature, effective, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven management and leadership skills, ability to effectively plan, coordinate, and manage staff, including prioritizing and scheduling work assignments, provide guidance and feedback in a constructive manner
- Strong organizational skills, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Experience in presenting to senior stakeholders
Salary Range
$115,000 - $130,000/year
