Intermediate C# Developer

About the Opportunity

  • Currently migrating our Industry leading desktop application to the cloud which you will support
  • You will participate in the selection of tools and technologies to move the company forward
  • Manage the Jira repository and support tickets
  • Maximize the maintainability and extensibility of the desktop solution
  • Create project plans, task breakdowns, time estimation and management throughout the project execution
  • Create API's while ensuring your code works for web-based functionality
  • Responsible for the stabilization and support of production systems
  • Support the elaboration of potential features and business requests
  • Support the existing team
  • Manage the quality control of code produced
  • Ensure that you adhere to unit testing practices
  • Stays current in technical learning and software development practices
  • Provide regular/immediate updates to project managers and business leaders
  • Work with the development team, QA team and business managers to provide assistance and direction to the development support system
  • Document and advise on technical documentation to ensure the integrity of the company’s knowledge base
  • Manage daily requirements to develop the internal product, keeping company development standards in mind
  • Provide guidance and perform bug fixes as required
  • Have an eye for quality code, solve complex business problems and learn/research new concepts
  • Perseverance and being able to manage your time while working on multiple tasks is essential
  • General coding, using Jira as your daily support system
  • Work in sprints managing a set of task and projects within that sprint

About You

  • Computer Science degree or related formal computer training
  • 3-5 years of development experience with C# and .NET technologies
  • Excellent knowledge of .NET 3.5 (or higher) including ASP.NET, MVC, WCF, web and windows services
  • Strong knowledge of MSSQL including database design, T-SQL and query optimization
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of Web API’s
  • Previous work experience with WebAPI or WebAPI2
  • 4+ years involvement with e-commerce solutions or other high traffic/volume web solutions
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (waterfall and agile)
  • Superior communication skills required
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills are required
  • Ability to learn on the fly and find solutions and not just problems
  • Financial industry experience is a bonus
  • Experience using Kentico CMS a bonus
  • Microsoft certifications are an asset
