Business Process Consultant - 18 Months

About the Opportunity
  • Provides support to Finance Director and Manager through leading and facilitating teams through process improvement initiatives by coordinating stakeholders’ engagements, including agenda setting, chairing and scheduling of meetings
  • Learn existing processes in detail, map out the efficient and integrated business process by engaging key stakeholders and lead the implementation of process improvements, and facilitate resolution of process and system issues
  • Learn existing reports, evaluate the redundancies to determine efficiencies, recommend reporting strategy and lead implementation of new reports
  • Process improvement leadership using Lean process methodologies
  • Develop performance metrics, dashboards, internal reports and external reports with new initiatives.
  • Manage changing priorities to complete project delivery within defined timelines and develop appropriate performance metrics
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of appropriate project management work products that will shape decision-making by the executive team such as the Payment Cycle and Revenue Tracker tool
  • Participate in processes as needed to understand and influence process change
  • Monitor and report on progress, problems and solutions of the project to all stakeholders and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Identify opportunities for business/operational improvement and ensures new process are streamlined and standardized
  • Draft and refine various policy documents including briefing notes, toolkits and guidelines
  • Accountable for the development and oversight of workplan activities and delivery of innovative presentations and proposals to all levels of the organization
  • Engage and communicate with stakeholders on an ongoing basis and ensure changing resource and project requirements are met and understood
  • Build consensus, negotiate and lead project team members drawn from across functional organizational lines
  • Coordinate activities with external vendors, consultants and internal teams for successful and timely completion of deliverables
  • Effectively manage risk by minimizing threats and maximizing opportunities within the project
  • Provide ongoing education to staff and stakeholders as it relates to complex workflows
About You
  • Successful completion of either a university degree or college diploma in business or Accounting
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project management in NPO or insurance environments is an asset
  • Project Management/ Business Analysis/ Lean/Sigma certification is an asset (e.g. CAPM)
  • Previous experience running multiple concurrent projects tackling challenges with a high level of ambiguity
  • Experience in Change Management and certification is an asset
  • Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder engagement and management at all levels
  • Proven experience in providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes and strong interpersonal relationship building skills to work with diverse set of abilities in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Strong leadership skills including communication and confidence in giving their opinion, interpersonal relationship building skills to work with diverse set of abilities in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision-making, and sound judgment
  • Strong professional presence and ability to uphold U’s standards of business and personal conduct
  • Understanding of project delivery and acceptance processes within a fast-paced professional services environment, ideally with experience in a hospital or finance setting
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-sufficient
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile when required
  • Experience user of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint)
Pay Rate
$45/hour
