Our client provides customers with analytic transportation solutions, and they are looking to hire a Business Data Analyst/Analytics Specialist.
About the Opportunity

The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the company with a variety of analytics initiatives
-
These responsibilities include reviewing large quantities of data, developing enhanced reporting, automation of various processes and performing various investigative and analytical functions
-
This includes working with the VP of Strategic Development to create metrics and internal client extracts and dashboards (examples include end of shift dispatch summaries, operational staff KPI, metrics, lead times, missed deliveries etc) along with client reporting summaries

The Data Analyst will extract data and automate these reports

There will also be an opportunity to explore and learn data modelling to assist the organization to make improvements to their business processes in the future

Key technical skills include being strong with Excel and Power BI

The role will initially have the Data Analyst work with the Operations team, and understand product, people and business workflows, from dispatch to delivery

The focus will then move to client reporting, providing data and dashboards to clients, looking at opportunities for automation, and then create internal reporting dashboards
About You
-
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

Strong experience with software packages like Excel, SQL, SAS (used to link logistic networks) and Power BI

Experienced in data visualization tools

Experience extracting, preparing, and analyzing large data sets

Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Nice to Have
-
Experience with ETL processes, data management, and process improvement

Knowledge of Python is a plus

Experience using and developing quantitative models
-
Exposure to any Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning concepts or tools, or strong desire to learn this
Salary Range
$90,000/year
