Business Analyst – Financial Systems (Closed)

Our client is the governing body for law professionals in Ontario, who ensures that the people of Ontario are served by law professionals who meet high standards of professional conduct, competence & learning and they are looking to hire a business analyst (financial systems).  

About the Opportunity 

• Strong Cognos development experience, reporting is done through that 

• Financial literacy – do not need a CPA but understanding of statements, general accounting principles 

• Excellent communications skills, this person supports the entire department, and this is not a backend role 

• We are looking for someone with a Business Analyst mindset, who is not afraid to ask questions, take initiative 

• There is also Systems maintenance, so the person should be able to multitask, manage time, this is not working on just reports but needs a broader skillset 

About You 

• Knowledge and experience with Cognos Reporting tools and Cognos Framework Manager. 

• Financial literacy – do not need a CPA but understanding of statements, general accounting principles 

• Excellent communications skills 

• SQL (IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.), including complex queries. 

• Enterprise Data Warehouse data models and dimensional modeling concepts 

• Knowledge of current trends in reporting platforms/systems and their practical applications, as they relate to the scope of responsibilities. 

• Broad experience in supporting enterprise reporting solutions, with a focus on usability, data quality and performance. 

• Strong knowledge of financial database and reporting software applications; experience with Microsoft Dynamics an asset. 

• Familiarity with network applications development, systems/network management tools, security protocols, documentation standards. 

Salary Range 

$91,000/year
