Business Analyst - 6 Month Contract

The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing, developing and supporting the applications and business processes that provide operational and management information to clients, vendors and internal users.

 

The Business Analyst will lead and participate in business technology requirements activities to ensure solutions achieve the functional and operational requirements defined by stakeholders. This requires collaboration with Product Lines of Business, Business Development and Client Service Delivery to ensure support the company’s overall goals and strategies.

 

 

About the Opportunity

  • Create clear functional requirements documents from business requirements by assessing and capturing customer needs, utilize structured processes to establish business priorities; consult with technical subject matter experts and develop alternative technology solutions
  • Advise product teams on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business processes
  • Verifies that code meets the acceptance criteria, preferably through automated testing platforms
  • Reviews new or modified program, including documentation, diagrams, use case analysis, and flow charts to determine if the program will perform according to user requests and conform to guidelines
  • Provide mentorship and participate in continuous improvement process of developing and implementing quality standards, best practices and procedures to attain the quality of software and efficiency of operations
  • Communicate effectively with developers on the explanation of user stories and validating the end implementation of the requirements
  • Create clear documentation to describe test strategy, detailed testing, result tracking, and defect management
  • Work directly with Solution Architects, other Programmer Analysts, Quality Assurance Analysts, Project Managers, Product Managers and Business to design, develop, document, deliver new business applications, and maintain existing ones
  • Provides support to clients and internal users to analyze and resolve production and operational issues

 

About You

  • Experience with EMV is crucial
  • Experience with financial and IT industry relating to Business and Functional analysis
  • Excellent written skills to effectively communicate and interact with various teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to identify problems and drive to resolution
  • At least 5 years’ experience in functional business analysis and leadership working with complex, integrated systems
  • Previous experience with banking business processes and applications, or in a Payment Services environment would be an asset
  • Knowledge of MasterCard, Interac, Visa & Exchange, ATM and/or POS devices, Mobile would be an asset
  • Post-secondary education in a discipline in an area related to assigned duties such as Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Accountable for identifying and delivering requirements for assigned initiatives
  • Comply with System Development Life Cycle methodology such as analysis, design and documentation and capability to use an agile approach
  • Take ownership of requests for support and ensure effective resolution delivered within timeframes that meet the needs of the business
  • Act as a subject matter expert, proactively provide improvement recommendations and technical guidance in the development and deployment of solutions within your area of expertise

Salary

$40 - $60/hour
