About the Company
Our client is a medical device manufacturer and specialty distributor. They are looking for an Assistant Controller who will be responsible for the accounting operations of the Company, including the production of financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and internal controls, and the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, which as a whole, mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the Company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally excepted accounting principles.

About the Opportunity
  • Develop and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and control procedures.
  • Responsible for the month-end closing processes
  • Coordinate the preparation and completion of the annual financial audit.
  • Recommend to the Corporate Controller benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations and calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
  • Develop and maintain a rolling weekly cash flow forecast.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system, chart of accounts, and system for management cost reports.
  • Actively manage accounts receivable collections and oversee accounts payable management and vendor payment scheduling.
  • Ensure timely remittance of all debt and interest payments.
  • Monitor compliance with debt covenants.
  • Comply with local, state, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Promote positive employee relations through open door policy, and timely response to questions and concerns.
  • Any other duties as required.

About You
  • CPA
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, including previous controller experience.
  • Background with a manufacturing and / or distribution company preferred, as is experience in working with a private equity-owned business.
  • Proven track record in managing accounting departments and reporting processes, with ability to work in lean operating environments with limited accounting staff / support.
  • MS Office skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
  • Experience in US GAAP preferred

Salary Range
$110,000-$120,000/year
