Our client is a prominent player in the Canadian mining industry. They are currently looking for an Assistant Controller to be responsible for financial preparation, analysis, and management.

About the Opportunity

• Prepare monthly internal management business reporting
• Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements
• Prepare quarterly and annual Management Discussion & Analysis
• Prepare consolidation package, including review and management of all aspects of the general ledger
• Review monthly site and corporate financial reporting and KPIs and provide variance analysis
• Research new IFRS accounting pronouncements, policy developments and implementation
• Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 
• Serve as a liaison to external auditors, assisting them with quarterly reviews and the year-end audit
• Assist in the preparation of budget and forecasts 
• Identify and implement process improvement and efficiencies in SAP 
• Engage, mentor and motivate 2-3 direct reports

About You

• CPA, CA Designation, with experience in a Senior Financial Advisor role
• Experience with financial reporting in accordance with IFRS regulations
• Advanced knowledge of integrated financial systems and accounting principles
• Experience within industries such as mining, oil, gas, utilities is an asset
• Proficiency with SAP 

Salary Range

Highly competitive dependent on candidate experience
