Our client is a well-known transportation company. They are looking to add an Assistant Controller to their finance team to manage compilation of the monthly financial package, executive commentaries and high-level variance analyses along with preparation of monthly board report.

About the Opportunity

• Manage general accounting team
• Ensure compliance with internal and external financial policies and regulations
• Primary responsibility for year-end audits and liaising with external tax advisors to prepare corporate tax returns
• Review and manage Sales Tax processes and technical applications in all corporate jurisdictions
• Oversee the continuous improvement of Accounting and Financial processes and the development of the team to achieve best practices and the highest level of customer support
• Support external and Government audits
• Hire, train and evaluate employees to enhance their performance, development and work product
• Identify, investigate and research technical accounting and financial reporting issues, and provide recommendations to the Controller, and members of the finance team and prepare accounting memos as required
• Assist with development and implementation of effective internal controls to assure safeguarding of assets and reliability of financial statements and to detect fraud and errors

About You

• CPA
• Experience from Public Accounting with industry experience doing full-cycle and reporting
• Strong Excel skills

Salary Range

$80,000 - $90,000/year
