About the Opportunity
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Accounts Payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments to vendors in a multi-currency environment
- Record entries related to payables and expenses into the correct general ledger code
- Process weekly payments via check or online banking EFT, wire, or ACH
- Follow-up and resolve issues originating from accounts payable queries and escalate as needed
- Manage the accounts payable month-end closing process, including the accrual of expenses, reconciliation, analysis, and filing of sales tax returns
- Run the corporate credit card program AMEX,VISA
- Design, implement, and operate an efficient payables process ensuring internal controls are in place, and financial policies are adhered to
- Continuously search for opportunities to improve processes and reduce manual work
- Prepare and provide meaningful KPI reporting to management
- Identify and implement continuous improvements
- Leverage strong SAP knowledge to provide ongoing support and training to team
- Reassign workload to ensure coverage in all areas of Accounts Payable
- Ensure policies, controls and standards are updated, adhered to and adequately captured
- Deliver high-quality service to business partners, including adherence to agreed service levels.
- Ensure team members understand and adhere to ethical standards when working with stakeholders
- Provide constructive feedback and other support for other people’s development
- Measure team progress using the right indicators; recognize when problems or shortfalls occur
About You
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an aptitude for detail and accuracy, ability to take multiple perspectives into account when making decisions
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Work, Excel, Outlook
- 3+ years of progressive experience as Senior Accounts Payable Specialist or Accounts Payable Manager in a company that operates in both Canada and US
- University degree in finance, accounting, or other business-related disciplines
- Strong understanding of cash management and full cycle accounts payable
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and accurate: Able to prioritize, work well and thrive under pressure while producing high quality deliverables
- Strong oral and written communication skills: Interacts clearly and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Team player and flexible: Understands the importance of ‘pitching in’ and able to deal with quickly changing priorities in a positive, productive manner
- Experience in Workday is an asset
Salary
$90,000/year
