About the Company
It is a group of approximately 100 anesthesiologists primarily hospitals. The office staff supports the billing and administration functions for this group of doctors. Your primary responsibility will be billing of OHIP, private and third-party insured services. This is a full-time position. Training will be provided in our office. A hybrid work environment (office/remote) will be available when required skills have been achieved
About the Opportunity
As part of your role, you will be responsible for communicating with physicians, private pay patients and third-party insurance providers. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and professionalism are keys to success in this role.
- Retrieval of billing documents from hospitals
- Answer telephone inquiries
- Sort billing cards
- Obtain correct version code, DOB, OHIP # on Electronic Patient Record, when required
- Reconcile bills received with source documents
- Monitor and follow up on bills that haven’t been received
- Timely entry of bills into AbelMed
- File billing cards
- Follow-up of outstanding accounts
- Work in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act requirements
- Other tasks as required
About You
- Graduate of a recognized Office Administration or Medical Secretarial program, or have equivalent experience
- Should have medical terminology
- Excellent knowledge of OHIP billing, (AbelMed preferred), MS Office and computer literacy
- Highest regard for maintaining confidentiality
- Self-directed; able to manage own time and workload to meet deadlines
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve independently
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
- Effective and demonstrated team skills
Salary
$65,000/year
