Agile Coach - 6-Month Contract

About the Opportunity

  • Act as an Agile champion for Digital Enterprise and teams in Canada
  • Help stand up new Agile teams and provide consulting and coaching to these teams to support their development and ongoing improvement to become self-organizing, self-managing and highly functional. This includes supporting the development of the Product Owner, Scrum Master and the team members
  • Facilitate an environment of continuous improvement and adoption of agile/scrum practices.
  • Provide coaching on how to prioritize and manage items in the backlog and maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team
  • Promote the Agile culture and mindset throughout the organization. This includes leading teams and influencing leaders and partners as they learn and adopt Agile practices by supporting them through coaching, mentoring, facilitating and teaching
  • Promote the use of DevOps technical practices and tools
  • Coordinate with other teams, facilitate preparation for Product Increment Planning, and support the Agile Release Train estimates for larger features and capabilities
  • Provide the educational support to the organization on Agile principles and Scrum/ Kanban practices or any additional Agile techniques to increase the Company-wide execution, innovation and overall maturity
  • You will help mobilize teams and coach squads
  • You must have an innate ability to lead at all levels, often by example
  • With PM’s and new team members coming in, it could be challenging to the coach. In this situation, you will need to adapt to the organization, and the organizations best practices and processes, while assisting your team members through the change journey
  • A driver, strong communicator, understand how to influence teams to change.
  • Able to work with strong team members, some stakeholders can be challenging to work with
  • You must be firm but fair in all situations, specifically with trying to gather information or push initiatives along. This will apply specifically with high level, high tenured stakeholders

About You

  • Degree or college diploma in a technology or business discipline
  • SME in Agile practices (Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban)
  • 2+ years of coaching experience in Agile Delivery, Digital Transformation, Training, Coaching
  • Bring a test and learn attitude to the team
  • You must have an appetite for positive action, a passion to innovate and a willingness to learn, often on the fly
  • You bring extensive facilitating experience to the team with exceptional mentoring, training and teaching expertise
  • You should have strong Influencing skills in all aspects of your day-to-day functions.
  • You will use emotional intelligence and humility to understand what motivates people to act.
  • You should be a collaborator in cross-functional teams on Technology, Design, Business, and Operations
  • Organizational change management orientation is required to be successful
  • Understanding of the difference between consulting and coaching and knowing when to apply each
  • Hands-on experience and previous accountability for delivery outcomes using Agile practices
  • Commitment to grow as an Agile Coach through continually improving your own skills and approaches
  • Proven ability to deliver significant improvements in self-managed Agile teams through application of coaching techniques
  • Agile Certifications – SAFe, PMI-ACP, PSM, CSM, CSPO or other Agile certification
