Accounts Receivable Accounting Analyst - 1 Year Contract (Closed)

About the Opportunity

  • Responsible to apply monthly rental cheques and additional payments to tenant accounts
  • Process monthly tenant chargeback invoices such as tenant direct or special charges for after hours HVAC, electricity, etc.
  • Monitor electronic payment collections process for NSF payments and follow-up with property management teams as applicable
  • Responsible for the input and maintenance of tenant bank information in the accounting system for electronic payment collections
  • Generate and monitor pre-authorized payment from tenants
  • Prepare rent-roll reports for property management and accounting review in advance of posting charges to tenant accounts
  • Prepare bank deposits as required and correspondence with banks as required
  • Prepare refund transactions for tenant security deposits for property management and property accounting review
  • Help to support property management in analyzing accounts receivable open-items, accounts receivable trends, and prepare accounts receivable performance reports
  • Communicate with Lease Administration regarding new / adjusted leases setup in system to ensure lease revenue is recorded in an accurate and timely manner
  • Input and maintain tenant sales figures for retail to ensure timely reporting and billing of percentage rent as applicable
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for property accountant review and sign-off
  • Liaise with Treasury department customer service re: bank charges, bank fees as needed
  • Monitor daily bank statements as required to ensure banking transactions are timely and accurately included in the accounting system and to ensure there are no bank errors
  • Prepare detailed invoices for tenant chargebacks and support tenant statement / ledger report preparation

About You

  • A University Degree or College Diploma in an accounting related field of study and active or planned enrollment in a recognized accounting program (CPA)
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts including accounts receivable, general accounting, bank reconciliations, and budgets
  • Interest and passion for commercial real and accounting
  • Excellent communication including strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with an exceptional attention to detail
  • Effective time management skills, works well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Ability to work and analyze at a high level
  • Willingness to learn in a dynamic environment that includes new ideas and change

Pay Rate

$21/hour
