About the Opportunity
- Provide training and development to the Accounts Payable team
- Lead the team to be the trust worthy advisors for internal clients
- Help monitor team members’ success and reinforce team cohesion
- Monitor incoming inquiries and ensuring all inquiries are addressed and resolved in a timely fashion
- Review and approve payment runs and check registers before acquiring final approvals
- Become the owner of all Accounts Payable responsibilities
- Lead the team to complete special projects
- Identify opportunities to convert cheque payment methods to electronic methods
- Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements and new technology to drive efficiencies through the streamlining and automating of processes and procedures
- Document and maintain policies and procedures for Accounts Payable;
- Act as a backup for other roles within the finance team as needed
- Use analytical skills and judgment to solve problems and deal with complex issues that require in-depth assessment
- Ensure proper controls, safeguards and segregation of duties are in place
- Review and analyze month-end reconciliations and vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and year-end activities
- Provide assistance to others during absences as needed
- Other duties as assigned
About You
- Post-secondary education in accounting related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an accounts payable role, professional services experience is considered an asset
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated team leadership, including performance management
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience with Thomson Reuter 3E is an asset
- Experience with AMEX @ Work is an asset
- Experience with SAP Concur, ChromeRiver, Ariba or similar AP solutions is an asset
- Excellent client service skills required to build and maintain client relationships
- Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Discretion, confidentiality and attention to detail are essential
- A team player who takes initiative and works well independently
- Solid written & verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates excellent client service and ability to anticipate client needs
Salary Range
$80,000 - $85,000/year
