Accounts Payable Supervisor - 14 month Contract (Closed)

About the Opportunity

  • Executes Accounts Payable (A/P) operations while continually seeking reforms to improve processes and obtain efficiencies
  • Develop and coach Accounts Payable team to ensure company objectives are met as well as to enhance individual skills and experience to achieve desired personal growth
  • Monitor and balance workflow among staff members
  • Maintains consistency of adherence to Accounts Payable policies and goals
  • Establishes and communicates standard operating procedures for accounts payable related matters, when applicable
  • Perform key analytics to monitor Accounts Payable trends
  • Respond to routine queries from vendors and Reliance staff
  • Coordinate the reconciliation of vendor accounts to the Accounts Payable sub-ledger
  • Reconcile key Accounts Payable accounts to the General Ledger
  • Resolve reconciling items with vendors, as necessary
  • Monitor control around information received and efforts expended by Accounts Payable team
  • Ensure appropriate approval and matching is observed for purchases and payments
  • Training other personnel with respect to Accounts Payable related material when required
  • Coordinate with accounting staff for matters affecting the general ledger
  • Integral to the roll out of SAP Concur, a new travel and expense software tool, across the Company
  • Other duties as assigned

About You

  • 2-3+ years supervisory experience within an Accounts Payable department
  • Accounting Degree or Diploma is an asset
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Ability to manage, and coach staff responsibilities
  • Excellent leadership, training and motivation skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic accounting practices and the accounting cycle
  • Analytical thinker, flexible and resourceful with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize assigned tasks
  • Independent thinker and ability to resolve problems
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of internal and external clients
  • Experience with SAP and SAP Concur would be assets

Salary

$65,000 - $75,000/year
