Accounts Payable Specialist (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Verifies, matches and codes invoices
• Pays invoices upon approval and in a timely manner
• Records cheques, vouchers and electronic fund transfers
• Reconciles accounts payable
• Prepares vendor analysis
• Assists with accrual preparation
• Responds to and resolves inquiries and issues related to accounts payable
• Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
• Communicates with utility companies upon closing of residential units
• Verifies broker commission invoices for sold and closed lots and pays accordingly
• Verifies décor commissions and pays accordingly
• Processes monthly expense reimbursements for management and employees
• Builds strong working relationships with guests, employees, management and auditors
• Complies with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed

About You

• Minimum 3 year of experience in accounts payable
• Experience working in real estate development or construction industry or related
• Post-secondary education in accounting/finance or suitable combination of education and experience
• Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
• Experience in MS Office, intermediate to advanced user of excel, and Newstar/REMS or other related accounting software is an asset

Salary

$50,000 - $60,000/year
