Accounting Manager - 3 Month Contract to Permanent

About the Opportunity

  • Monitor bank accounts and record transactions
  • Respond to email concerns and queries in a timely fashion from internal and external stakeholders
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, review and journalize
  • Responsible for employee benefits administration
  • Create and enter month-end journal entries
  • Reconcile all bank accounts
  • Review and analyze general ledger accounts
  • Act as the guardian for the Accounting System (manage user profiles, system settings, General Ledger code creation, etc.)
  • Process month-end close of sub systems and circulate revenue flash reports
  • Calculate commissions for Canadian Salesmen
  • Manage WSIB/WCB
  • Remit HST (PST if applicable)
  • Calculate and submit union remittances
  • Calculate and remit RRSP
  • Prepare internal financial statements and reports
  • Assist with budget creation for corporate head office
  • Assist with annual insurance renewal
  • Prepare audit working papers for external auditors
  • Responsible for managing the annual interim and year-end audits
  • Reconcile T4’s & prepare WSIB, EHT& WCB Annual submissions

About You

  • General working knowledge of ASPE/GAAP
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Good time management and ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Analytical and detail oriented
  • Experience working with Auditors and being a lead contact in the audit process
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Experience with Exact ERP and Quantify for Inventory (nice to have)
  • Experience or exposure to system implementations (nice to have)    
  • Works well in a team environment, but can also thrive working independently
