Our client is a privately owned apparel company looking for an Accounting Manager to be responsible for overseeing a variety of accounting functions while ensuring the integrity of the financial information recorded in strict compliance with the company’s policies and procedures and established internal controls.

About the Opportunity

• Review and preparation of month end close processes such as working papers, process period end and year end entries 
• Responsible for full-cycle Accounts Payable processing including preparation of cheque runs and assisting with treasury functions.
• Prepare monthly / quarterly financial statements and assist in the preparation of budgets 
• Analyze actual results against budget/forecast with explanation for variations 
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for nominated accounts and ensure integrity of information
• Review income statement on a consistent basis and maintain schedules of accounts as assigned
• Responsible for the timely and accurate calculation and filing of governmental remittances and reports
• Maintenance of Fixed Asset Schedules and Registries
• Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets, and assist with preparation for any audits or independent reviews with support from CFO
• Maintain policy and procedure documentation for complex financial and accounting issues.
• Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities

About You

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required; CPA designation is an asset
• 6+ years of accounting experience
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (VLookup, Pivot Tables)
• Experience with MS Dynamics an asset
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Salary Range

$65,000 - $75,000/year
