About the Opportunity

• Conducts record keeping and maintaining the general ledger for a private group of companies, individuals and trusts
• Prepares and reviews monthly bank reconciliations (Trust & Corporate)
• Assisting with month-end close activities as it relates to reconciliations and journal entries
• Liaises with clients/vendors to resolve accounting issues
• Working with investment schedules and reconciliations
• Prepare bank deposits and occasionally complete banking
• Help with monthly, quarterly and annual government filings for HST, payroll, EHT, etc
• Assistance in monitoring the various real estate holdings; Rent collection, property tax payments, etc
• Assist on special projects
• Performing clerical filings (establish and maintain a filing system)
• Assisting with income tax returns (trust, corporate and individual)
• Assisting with year-end requests from external accountant
• Preparing supporting schedules,audit requests, etx.

About You

• Good communication skills and works well in a team
• Detail-oriented with good analytical skills
• Working Knowledge of Sage and Quickbooks
• Average understanding of investments and real estate
• Microsoft Excel skills
• Five years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience with private company accounting or has worked with a family office is an asset

Salary

$65,000/year
