Accounting Analyst (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Maintain systematic records of business transactions and ensure all supporting documentation is maintained in support of CCAF internal control framework and the annual audit requirements
• Verification and input of journal entries, postings and deposits
• Ensure all payables and payments have proper coding and authorization
• Complete weekly electronic fund transfers and/or cheque runs
• Process all payments for CCAF programs.
• Generate contribution reports from Moneris and third-party sites
• Responsible for issuing charitable income tax receipts monthly
• Generating quarterly financial reports
• Accumulate and consolidate all financial data necessary for preparation of monthly accounting reports,
• analyze and present variance analysis
• Support and contribute to the ongoing development of systems and processes to enhance management
• reporting and budgeting processes
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets; once approved, work to implement the budgets including
• budget analysis
• Prepare reports for auditors and assist with year-end procedures
• Maintain accounting policies and procedures
• Completing special projects and analysis for Executive Director as assigned
• Additional ad hoc support as required

About You

• Accounting Designation
• Full cycle accounting and Budgeting/Analytical experience
• Proficiency with accounting, spreadsheet, and word processing software at an advanced user level
• Ability to operate effectively at both a tactical and an operational level
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize and respond to urgent situations while consistently meeting competing deadlines
• Experience in the not-for-profit sector

Pay Rate

$33/hour
