About the Company

Our client is a leading expert in the insurance industry. They are looking for an Accountant to provide support with improving the financial reporting process, internal controls and analysis for the organization.

About the Opportunity

• Prepare journal entries to recognize expenses incurred including accruals and other quarterly adjustments ensuring accuracy of financial reporting requirements
• Complete financial statements (including notes and analysis) for quarterly and year-end reporting
• Prepare all working papers and required documentation for external auditor year end review
• Prepare Pension Plan working paper files and financial statements for external audit and the required filing with Head Office
• Handle all queries from external auditors
• Prepare and analyze financial data as required for reporting to Head Office
• Oversee the accounting for leases required under IFRS 16
• Coordinate the preparation of the annual expense plan with department representatives for final submission to Head Office for approval
• Prepare quarterly written report of expense variance analysis for local executives

About You

• CPA In Progress
• 3-5 years of full-cycle accounting
• Experience with SAP GL, AP, CO and Cash Management modules
• Experience working with IFRS 16 or 17 is an asset

Salary

$65,000 - $75,000/year
