About the Opportunity

  • Prepare and post assigned journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Prepare and analyze monthly variances between budget and actual financial results to support accurate, complete and timely analysis for decision-making
  • Prepare, review and submit monthly and/or quarterly Financial Reports required for internal and external reporting (i.e. Complex Special Needs Report, HST, Fundraising)
  • Book Partner expenses and arrange Partner EFT payments; maintain tracking report and validate contract values to ensure correct amounts are paid; reconciliation of payments to GL to ensure entries are correctly booked
  • Responsible for the accounting and reporting of fundraising transactions
  • Any other assigned accounting tasks as indicated on the month-end schedule
  • Assist with the year-end audit, including preparation of account reconciliations and required audit support
  • Prepare annual charity return and other annual reports as required
  • Quarterly reconciliation of Sales and Cost of Sales; semi-annual review of pricing/ costs for store sales and making necessary updates
  • Subject matter expert for Billings and Accounts Receivable
  • Tracking and posting of Billings and Accounts Receivable entries and associated invoicing; prepare and review Accounts Receivable Aged Report with Programs, ensuring adherence to corporate policies
  • Preparation of T2200’s annually
  • Investment reporting, reconciliations, audit support
  • Deferred revenue tracking and reconciliations; communicated unspent balances with programs as required
  • Provide back-up support for other Finance positions as required
  • Other duties as assigned

About You

  • Post-secondary education in Commerce and/or Business Administration, specializing in Accounting
  • Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Healthcare experience is preferred 
  • Knowledge and experience with MIS guidelines for financial and statistical healthcare reporting preferred
  • Proven skills in account reconciliations, journal entry preparation and analysis, including
  • understanding of Canadian GAAP/PSAS requirements
  • Advanced computer skills and superior knowledge of computer applications and database software applications. Extensive experience with Excel
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and handle a high volume of work
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sense of initiative and accountability, and able to work with minimal supervision

Pay Rate

$38/hour
