ARE YOU A SECURITY AND NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR WHO THRIVES ON WORKING LARGE SCALE BUSINESS CRITICAL PROJECTS? Our client, located in Markham, is currently hiring a Security and Network Administrator to join their growing team. In this role you will work alongside a strong technical team and collaborate with the business as the company continues to grow.  The Security and Network Administrator is a key member of the IT-Security Infrastructure team, who is responsible for the implementation, administration, maintenance, and support, of the organization’s network architectures. This position is also responsible for maintaining a stable, highly available environment.

About the Opportunity

  • Provide guidance, direction and technical leadership to the organization, Service Desk, and NOC teams
  • Collaborate with App Dev, IT Ops, Telecom, and IT Security teams on planned project requirements
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new infrastructure solutions and enhancements. Perform proof of concepts and create-present proposals to senior management
  • Participate in the design and implementation of complex infrastructure technologies around networking
  • Provide network infrastructure technical expertise to IT Security team in the design and implementation of key projects
  • Work closely with vendors to procure equipment and services
  • Participate in project planning activities; provide scope of work and level of effort around projects
  • Produce design and as built documentation to effectively handover system architecture to other departments for successful systems implementation
  • Provide oversight and guidance during network voice/data related outage scenarios
  • Act as the escalation point of last resort, regarding complex and technically challenging network related issues

 

About You

  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressured, customer – oriented environment
  • 7+ years’ experience in a Network Administrator/engineer role, delivering best in class enterprise network architecture
  • 3+ years’ supporting diverse VoIP network environments – Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft, other
  • 7+ years’ experience in the design, implementation and support of large network systems, including Cisco routers (ISR, ASR), switches (L2/L3, Catalyst, Nexus) and firewalls (Palo Alto)
  • Experience with large scale VoIP phone deployments
  • Experience in the implementation and support of NetScaler load balancer's, Palo Alto SSL/VPN
  • Extensive experience with:
    • WAN and LAN routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, IGRP, BGP, HSRP)
    • Ethernet switch technologies (spanning tree (STP/RSTP), and VPC)
    • Wireless network technologies: 802.11/ABGN, Cisco Meraki access points
    • Network authentication protocols: TACACS, RADIUS
    • Network monitoring protocols: SNMP, Net flow, JFlow, IPMon
    • Design, Implementation and Support of enterprise level Audio/Video Conferencing Solutions
    • Design, Implementation and Support of enterprise level wireless networks
    • Microsoft Collaboration Tools: Skype for Business, One Drive, Cloud Architecture/Integration Experience – Azure
    • Experience with Network Capacity Planning and Management
  • Experience designing highly-available network environments and disaster recovery capabilities
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 and Active Directory, including DNS, DHCP and Sites/Services
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP required
  • Voice and wireless certifications are a plus
